Two long-term contributors to the Cetacean Human Age, Wentworth and Fiona Neubaum are Dorad’s parents.

Having graduated from Harvard University with degrees in astrophysics and engineering, a young Wentworth joined the propulsion research team, of an aerospace company partnered with CHAKRA. Although not telepathically receptive at the time, Wentworth was fascinated by the whole concept of humans and dolphins together in space. Through closer involvement with space missions, Wentworth got to know various Chakranaut team members.

A student of architectural and product design, Fiona Smith aged nineteen, discovered while on vacation with her parents, that she had become telepathically receptive. Despite feeling motivated to change direction in her life, Fiona completed her scholarship as planned, gaining several diplomas as a result. Soon afterwards, Fiona successfully enrolled in CHAKRAcademy, excelling at being a Chakranaut.

It was during a Chakranaut training mission that Fiona and Wentworth first met, with a shared interest in astronomy and space travel forming a friendship between them. Fiona encouraged Wentworth to spend more of his time among dolphins, exploring the possibility of triggering a receptive sense. Gradually, Wentworth learned that he too was telepathically receptive, enabling him to become a Chakranaut alongside Fiona. It was the various expeditions across space in particular, which brought Wentworth and Fiona closer together as friends, resulting in their marriage and in later years, the birth of Dorad.

Having provided Dorad with an upbringing to utilise her kinship with dolphins, Wentworth and Fiona concentrated on their respective professions within CHAKRA, while remaining available as Chakranauts. Wentworth became head of the team developing a fusion drive system, which ultimately led to the pioneering journey towards the light barrier. Meanwhile, as CHAKRA’s facilities continued to expand, Fiona contributed many interior designs, while also designing completely new cetacean human homes generally.

Following the astounding news of humans and dolphins teleporting across space, Wentworth, Fiona and Dorad participated in CHAKRA’s first interstellar voyage. Inspired by the mission’s success, Fiona and Dorad created concept designs for a combined spaceship and cetacean human home, with Dorad showing the same flair for product design as her mother. The spaceship concept with all its possibilities, begins a new chapter of intrigue and adventure for the Neubaum family.
